About Mrs. Schultz
I became Mrs. Schultz on New Year's Eve of 2013; my maiden name was Ms. Martinez. I started my lifelong journey in California (that's where I was born!). My father was in the Marine Corps, therefore, I have lived in many different cities across America. My parents moved to North Carolina when I was in high school. After I graduated high school, I attended and graduated from East Carolina University (Go Pirates!). I am certified to teach science and social studies to grades 6 - 9.
In the summer of 2015, I participated in an amazing opportunity that I earned; a year long Kenan Fellowship.
K-12 teachers selected as Kenan Fellows engage in a year-long fellowship in partnership with university researchers and industry experts. Key components of this fellowship is a five-week summer research experience with a mentor in the Museum of Natural Sciences in downtown Raleigh and two weeks of professional development.
I have been teaching since 2010 and I am so excited to spend it teaching your 7th grade student! I absolutely love presenting the curriculum in a new and interesting way to keep the students engaged. We have many fun topics to explore this year: Earth's atmosphere, the human body, cells, genetics, Newton's laws of motion, and much more!
Here's to a wonderful 7th grade school year!
Sincerely,
Julianna Martinez-Schultz
