Materials:
Students should bring the necessary materials from their supply list to science class every day! Every day, students should have their half inch 3-ring binder with all notes, homework assignments, and summative assessments organized into the correct location. They should also have pencils, pens, highlighters, a composition notebook and coloring tools (colored pencils, crayons, felt pens, etc) every day as well.
Assignments:
Homework – Students will be assigned homework on a regular basis. On Monday, the week's homework will be written down into their agenda during class. Homework for the previous week will be collected every Monday during class.
Quizzes – Students will take quizzes every Monday. Quizzes will be in the form of multiple choice and taken digitally.
Tests – Students will not take stereotypical tests in this class.
Work Samples – Students will have a variety of work samples collected and graded on a regular basis. These could be labs, bell-ringers, homework assignments, or anything other than a test or quiz.
Projects – Students will work on projects throughout the year related to the curriculum to enhance their learning along the way. Projects will count as a test grade in the grade book!
Grading Breakdown:
60% Assessments: Quizzes, and Projects
30% Classwork
10% Homework
Expectations:
1. Students are expected to follow all Moore Square Middle School rules, as well as established classroom rules and procedures. Seventh grade students will be issued lockers.
2. Students are expected to turn in all assignments! If they are absent, students have 5 days to turn in any missing work. If a student fails to turn in an assignment, they have 3 days to get it turned in. If they fail to do this, they will have lunch detention until the assignment is made up.
3. Students are responsible for their learning, please do not hesitate to ask questions, or seek out help.
